Snow!

We have finally had some snow accumulation here in Columbia in the last week or so (it all melted today, though). Here is the pond behind our back yard. You can kind of see the snow falling from the sky in this picture but have not learned enough about our camera to really capture things in their true beauty.

Elijah watched the snow fall from his bedroom window for like 20 minutes (which is a long time for a boy his age).In the spirit of winter, mommy offered her artistic skills and drew a snowman to color. Isn't Elijah's coloring BEAUTIFUL?!

Putting Gas in the bike

Elijah told Jeremiah that he wanted to put gas in his bike and this is what Jeremiah told Elijah to do in order to fill the tank up. Elijah was pretty serious about it. Hopefully he won't try this when he's filling up his gas tank at age 16...
And, in case you were observing, no, my son does not wear clothes. Some days he just decides he wants to run around in his diaper or underwear or whatever he's in the mood for that day.... You learn to pick your battles.

For Auntie Tami

My (Randi's) Auntie Tami (Eli's GREAT Auntie Tami) has been continuously gracious to send us all of Adam's hand-me-downs, as they fit Elijah perfectly at just the right time. These are a few pictures of our little dude rockin' Adam's SWEET hand-me-downs.

Mommy's Little Helper

Elijah loves helping mommy cook (mommy's not the biggest fan of help in the kitchen- from anyone). However, we found a way to both be happy... So, here is our boy cooking up something yummy :) MMM MMM
We learned how to clean up later on.

Mommy, WOW, I'm a big kid now! (Potty Training)

Well, our Elijah has decided that, while he is still the baby, he's a big kid too. He has finally taken to potty training. He loves to look at his "poops and pees" in the toilet and today, for the first (and second and third...) times he figured out how to flush our toilets. Oh man, was he proud. We heard it flush and he ran into the living room- bottomless- announcing his accomplishment "water! toilet!"
Since he's a boy and gets caught up in his world we still have to remind him to go potty and we still have yet to go a day without an accident... but at 23 months, we are pretty proud of our boy.

I don't want to grow up

I, Randi, have started watching a 4 month old in our home full time during the week. We had many infant things packed away in the closet so I dug them out for the baby. Elijah has since decided that he is still the baby and spends much of his time bouncing in the Jumparoo saying "baby baby baby". As you can see, he has quite outgrown this toy but he doesn't seem to care.
